Yes—and I hated it. I mean, I loved it! I loved and hated being an advisor. Why? Because I didn’t believe in the products I was selling, and I wasn’t incentivized to do what was right for the client. To keep my job, I had to sell, sell, sell. And the stuff I was selling? It had fees, lockup periods, and charges that honestly didn’t make any sense for the client!
Only the ignorant fools with bills to pay ever did well in that job. Why? Because they didn’t care what they sold. They just needed the job and had no moral code—or they were too stupid to know what they were doing.
